ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The Reds boss explained why his Dutch father will not be attending the club's away fixture against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday as he came up with a hilarious reason. Liverpool are on course to secure a direct spot in the round of 16, having won all of their previous seven outings.

WHAT ARNE SLOT SAID
Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference, the Dutch coach said: "My father will not be here. He says that he can watch the match on television much better, he sees many more things. He is from Bergentheim, where I was born. What I don't miss in the Netherlands is the amount of traffic that we have in this country. So I don't think that he had to drive two and a half hours but much longer than that. So I don't think that he will be watching with too many nerves from the couch at home."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Slot had mentioned in the past that his father, Arend Slot Sr, follows Liverpool's games closely and is his biggest critic. He even revealed that Arend did not approve of the team's style of play in their win against Lille in the Champions League last week.
